Did you know that are many waus to give to New Path? Most folks give by simply making a donation to us and while those gifts are wonderful and necessary, you can also give a gift that can have a long-lasting impact that doesn't require you to write a check today and maybe even have a tax benefit for you and your family!

Giving a bequest, or designating our organization in our retirement account, or giving a gift of stock or mutual funds can be a helpful way to gift that can last for generations.

By naming The New Path, Inc. in your will, you can choose to give us a specific asset, a lump sum amount or a percentage of your estate. You can also make your gift restricted or unrestricted. 74% of all Americans over age 40 have some form of an estate and a bequest can help insure your gift will have a long lasting impact. A bequest doesn't require you to make an immediate gift and perserves access to your assets. Bequests are also also very flexible and can be changed at any time.

By making a simple beneficiary designation on your retriment account, such as an IRA, or your life insurance, you can help make a lasting impact for our organization. You can choose to give all or a percentage of your portfolio to our organization. There is no cash flow impact for you as a donor when you choose this option and you can still make distributions as you normally would. You can also change your beneficiary designation, if circumstances change.

If you are age 70 1/2 and have to take Required Minimum Distributions from a retirement account, you can give those dollars to New Path! This allows the donor to make major gifts while reducing their individual tax burden. However, there is no charitable, income tax deduction on these gifts.

Individuals with investment portfolios may want to make a gift of appreciated stocks and mutual funds for our organization. By doing so, donors can get an income tax exemption on the value of the appreciated stocks and mutual funds at the time of the gift, not the original purchase price. In addition, no captial gains are paid on the gift transferred to our organiztion.
